ROBERT A. ARABIAN is an associate attorney at GIFFORD, DEARING & ABERNATHY, LLP, with a practice focused on probate, estate planning and trust administration. Robert advises individuals in their capacities as administrators, executors, trustees and conservators. Additionally, he represents estate and trust beneficiaries and specializes in the unique area of planning for police, fire, other public safety members and government employees. He understands the intricacies of inheriting firearms in the State of California and can help keep inheriting family members out of legal trouble involving firearms. Robert has spent the past 19 years as a general legal practitioner while honing his estate planning craft.
Robert is a seasoned trial attorney with a unique background. After graduating from Pepperdine University School of Law, he served four years as a Ventura County Deputy District Attorney conducting numerous jury and court trials. He prosecuted misdemeanors, felonies and juveniles; briefed and argued misdemeanor appeals and finished his jury trial career in the gang unit prosecuting gang crimes, shootings and other major crimes. He is an expert in criminal law and procedure having worked both inside the courtroom and on the street.
Robert served as a California Peace Officer for 31 years with both the Los Angeles and Simi Valley Police Departments, ultimately attaining the rank of Police Commander. This background provides Robert with an amazing working knowledge of the intricacies of Police procedures.
During law school Robert worked as an intern for the Honorable Dickran Tevrizian, Federal District Court Judge (Ret) in Los Angeles, California; worked at Murchisson & Cumming, a top-tier insurance defense law firm and clerked for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. He enjoys mediating disputes between parties but is always prepared to take a case to trial to enforce the rights of our clients.
